A telecommunications infrastructure company will add 141 jobs and more than $50 million in capital investment to Lubbock, the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance announced Wednesday.
LEDA confirmed Dura-Line will open its newest manufacturing facility at Lubbock Logistics Center II, 904 Lubbock Business Park Blvd., and begin production in the second half of 2024.
"When we were looking for the right communities to house our next expansion, we found Lubbock," said Elad Shmulevich, Dura-Line's vice president of operations. "We believe that the fit here, not just from a workforce perspective, the building, logistics, the highways and all that, (it is) the culture. We really fell in love with the people, and we felt welcome from day one."

Dura-Line is a global manufacturer and distributor dealing in telecommunication infrastructure. That includes "conduit, FuturePath, cable-in-conduit, and accessories," according to the company's website.
The company's high-density polyethylene pipe is used in telecommunications and natural gas distribution. Their conduits help protect fiber optic-cables and gas pathways. The Lubbock facility will manufacture plastic conduit for fiber-optic lines.
"There's a lot of interest and investments in telecommunications and connectivity," Shmulevich said. "The demand for data is exponentially growing, and COVID accelerated that even more. Dura-Line is ramping up its capability and capacity to reach that surge in demand."
Dura-Line partners with AT&T, Verizon, and other big names in telecommunications to provide connectivity solutions.
"Dura-Line's production of conduit pathways for fiberoptic cables will enable the expansion of broadband connectivity to our rural communities in need, especially those in West Texas," said John Osborne, CEO and president of LEDA. "The expansion of Orbia's Dura-Line business into the Hub City is monumental for the continued growth of rural Texas."
