Nov 27, 2023Endwell AutoZone to Open Parts Hub, Now Hiring Workers
Construction of an Endwell distribution center for a big car parts retailer is almost completed.
The 9,375-square-foot facility is attached to an existing AutoZone store on East Main Street.
AutoZone's total space at the site with the store and the new building will increase to almost 18,000 square feet.
The addition is located on a site that was home to a Mister Donut shop during the 1970s and 1980s. In recent years, that building was used for the offices of First General of Southern New York.
First General sold the property and moved to a nearby site on East Main Street last year.
Shelving installation for the new AutoZone distribution hub may start as soon as Monday. Construction work should be finished within a couple of weeks.
An AutoZone manager said the facility should become operational in June. About 16 people are expected to be hired for the center, which will store parts for delivery to several AutoZone stores in New York and Pennsylvania.
After the distribution facility work is completed, the existing retail store will be renovated. The store will remain open while that project is underway.
