High rate of BSNL FTTH disconnections concerning: CMD, Telecom News, ET Telecom

"High rate of disconnections in FTTH is a matter of serious concern and it is alarming for the circles where disconnection rate is more than 30%," Purwar was quoted as saying in the report.

NEW DELHI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) CMD PK Purwar has expressed concerns over the high rate of disconnections of the state-run telco's FTTH service,as it continues to lose out to private telcos Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel in the wireline segment, as per a Financial Express report. "High rate of disconnections in FTTH is a matter of serious concern and it is alarming for the circles where disconnection rate is more than 30%," Purwar was quoted as saying in the report. According to the latest data by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), wireline subscribers increased from 27.73 million at the end of January to 27.97 million at the end of February.

Vi lost two million subscribers in the second month of the current calendar, even as Jio added a little over one million and Airtel added 982, 554 subscribers, the latest subscriber data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) revealed.
