WEST AKRON: A Romig Road man called police May 29 stating his ex-girlfriend showed up uninvited at his residence despite a protection order. The woman showed police text messages from the man asking her to come over and bring food. Police arrested him for violation of a protection order and took him to the Summit County Jail.Police responded to a robbery at a Copley Road store May 28. Employees stated a woman who had stolen from the store in the past was asked to leave the store. She stated she had a knife, told employees to call the police, placed items into a bag and left without paying for them. Police found her on Copley Road, recovered the stolen items and viewed video surveillance of the incident. They found no weapons in her possession but arrested her on warrants for escape and a parole violation, charged her with robbery and trespassing and took her to the Summit County Jail.An intoxicated woman who left a Peckham Street home May 31 on foot yelling obscenities refused to comply with police orders to stop and was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to the Jail.On June 1 police responded to a fight involving several men in an Orlando Avenue apartment. One man had a head injury and was transported him to a hospital. Officers recovered a garden hoe that had been used as a weapon, interviewed several people and charged a tenant with assault.Police stopped the driver of a pickup truck reported stolen from Knox County and questioned the driver, who reportedly admitted he stole the vehicle because he needed a ride. He was charged with receiving stolen property and the passenger was charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia found in the vehicle.On June 3 police attempted a traffic stop on a driver who led officers on a pursuit through neighborhoods to Packard Drive. The driver was charged with traffic violations, willful fleeing and possession of 14 grams of marijuana and having an open bottle of tequila in a vehicle and taken to the Jail.A driver stopped for making a U-turn on West Market Street June 4 at 1:46 a.m. was arrested for driving under suspension and charged with possession of 100 grams of marijuana.A woman called police to a Noble Avenue home June 4 after her boyfriend assaulted her and forced her out of the house. Police found no visible injuries on her and spoke to the man, who stated she entered his house and he blocked her from going upstairs, and when he struggled to get her outside she bit his arm. Police found two bite marks on his arm and charged the woman with assault and took her to the Jail.Police responding to a fight on Treetop Trail June 5 detained a man leaving the scene. A woman at the residence stated she asked him to leave and he bit her, but she declined charges. Police charged the man with possession of cocaine and marijuana found in his possession.An Alder Run Way man reported June 5 he received a message on his computer purportedly from a computer repair team. The sender accessed his computer and compromised his personal information.Hospital employees called police June 5 at 12:15 a.m. after someone dropped off a juvenile with a gunshot wound. A second teen arrived after being hit by a car and with significant injuries. Police determined both males were injured when gunfire erupted at a closed school at Cordova Avenue and Peckham Street. Officers believe someone shot one male and the second teen was injured while attempting to flee a hail of gunfire. Police collected evidence, including a rifle and numerous shell casings from the scene, and are investigating.

BATH: Police responding to a report of an unresponsive man in a vehicle outside a Springside Drive hotel May 27 administered two doses of Narcan. The man woke and EMS evaluated and released him, and he went to a hotel room with a friend.A woman was charged with theft May 27 after attempting to leave a Medina Road store without paying for grocery items.Fairlawn police requested officers check on the welfare of a woman who was driving erratically May 28. Police stopped the driver as she entered a parking lot on North Cleveland-Massillon Road. She failed a field sobriety test and her BAC tested .226, and she was charged with DUI and her vehicle was towed.Police viewed video surveillance from a Medina Road store May 30 after employees reported a male entered the store, concealed a game controller in a bag and left without paying for it.On June 1 police found a man wanted on multiple warrants and driving a vehicle while his license was suspended and stopped him. He was charged with driving under suspension and released to the Silver Lake Police Department on a warrant.

COPLEY: The Bath Police Department assisted police in searching the area near a Fawn Meadows Drive residence May 26 after police were asked to check for a man who walked away from his home just after midnight.A Brenner Road man called police May 26 stating his wife's cousin, who was intoxicated, refused to leave. Police advised her to leave several times, she refused and was charged with trespassing.Police were investigating another call at a Montrose West Avenue hotel May 27 when a man approached them stating his cellphone had been stolen from a flower pot outside the entrance. Police questioned a man and woman walking away from the area and found the phone in the woman's possession, returned it to the victim and charged her with theft.Employees of a Heritage Woods Drive facility reported a woman created a disturbance May 29. Police arrived to see the woman drive out of the parking lot yelling out the window and drive erratically onto Interstate 77. Police stopped her and she failed a field sobriety test, refused a BAC test and charged her with DUI.On May 29 police investigating reports of solicitors in the Crestmont Court area spoke to two men who were wanted on warrants in Florida and Maryland. One man who exhibited signs of intoxication was evaluated by EMS and police confiscated a crack pipe found in his possession. The men were advised not to return to the area until they obtained a permit to solicit.Police responding to reports that a man was rummaging through a dumpster on Crestmont Court May 31 found the man standing beside it and in possession of a controlled substance. The man was charged with drug possession and taken to the Summit County Jail.Officers patrolling Copley Road June 3 saw an occupied vehicle parked in the lot of a closed gas station and spoke to the driver. He appeared to be under the influence of a substance and dropped a drug pipe as he exited the vehicle, and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.On June 3 police investigated the theft from a vehicle on Kirkwall Drive after a woman reported someone entered her vehicle the previous night, ransacked the glove box and stole a work bag containing cash and her wallet from the center console.Police went to a Goodenough Avenue residence June 3 for a man and his girlfriend who were wanted on warrants. The man attempted to run from the back door and was apprehended along with the girlfriend who was hiding in a back bedroom. Both suspects were taken to the Summit County Jail.

FAIRLAWN: Police investigated the theft of a wallet from a customer while she shopped at a West Market Street store May 25. She said she was alerted after receiving a notice that someone attempted to use her credit card for a $500 purchase at a nearby store.Employees of a West Market Street store reported they had a shoplifter in custody May 26, but police arrived to find the person had fled in a vehicle. The vehicle was found in nearby parking lot, a loss prevention agent identified the Highland Avenue woman and police charged her with theft.A Florida Avenue man was charged with the theft of $75 in merchandise and possession of drug paraphernalia May 26 at a West Market Street store. Police found a driver's license and debit card bearing a woman's name in his possession and were investigating.A Wall Street man was charged with theft May 26 after attempting to leave a Medina Road store without paying for $49 in items.On May 27 police responded to a report that a shoplifter concealed merchandise and left a West Market Street store without paying for it. Police found her outside the store, recovered $45 in items and charged the Ackley Street woman with theft and possession of drug abuse instruments and paraphernalia after they found syringes and a drug pipe in her possession.Loss prevention agents at a West Market Street store reported May 27 a woman filled a shopping cart with $328 in groceries and fled without making due payment through the parking lot. Police located the Chinook Avenue woman hiding in a bush and charged her with theft.Police searched a West Market Street area for a gray Chevy Malibu May 27 after employees of a West Market Street store reported a woman stole $126 in items and fled in the vehicle, which had a Michigan license plate.An Eastland Avenue woman was charged with theft May 30 after she concealed $41 in items in her purse and left a West Market Street store.

NORTON: On May 22 police responding to reports that a driver was slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot of a Johnson Road church found the vehicle and woke the driver, who admitted drinking. Police determined he had veered off the road and crashed into the building. He failed a field sobriety test, his BAC tested 0.2 and he was charged with DUI and driving under a DUI suspension and released to a sober driver.Police responding to 911 calls from two men at an Eastern Road residence May 22, spoke to them and charged one with domestic violence and took him to the Summit County Jail after he admitted assaulting the other man during an argument.On May 23 police investigated a road rage incident on South Cleveland-Massillon Road after a driver reported the driver of a Mitsubishi followed him on Interstate 76 and onto Cleveland-Massillon Road, then threw an object at his vehicle and left. Police found no damage to that man's vehicle and searched for the Mitsubishi but were unable to locate it.A Union Street woman was charged with domestic violence and taken to the Summit County Jail May 23 after assaulting a family member.Police closed Greenwich Road for nearly eight hours May 23 while a utility company performed repairs after a tractor-trailer dragged fiber-optic wires into the traffic lanes, pulling down utility poles and other wires.On May 24 police responded to reports that a driver was passed out behind the steering wheel of a vehicle at a gas pump. They woke the man, who stated he had not used any substances but he was tired. Police found a drug pipe containing suspected methamphetamine on the vehicle floor, arrested the man for possession of drug paraphernalia and released him to the Summit County Sheriff's Office deputies on multiple warrants. A bag of hypodermic needles found during a tow inventory of his vehicle were tagged for destruction.Police were seeking video surveillance of a parking lot on South Cleveland-Massillon Road May 25 after a man reported his car was keyed while he was in a professional office.Officers responding to a report that a driver crashed into a tree in Silver Creek Metro Park May 25 and found him on South Hametown Road. The Wadsworth man stated he was walking home, failed a field sobriety test and he was charged with DUI, having an elevated BAC, driving under multiple suspensions and hit-skip.An Oser Road man was charged with criminal damaging May 27 after another a man reported he visited the home and saw the man use a metal bar to pound on the hood and door of his vehicle.On May 27 police stopped an erratic driver going 90 mph on state Route 21. The man appeared intoxicated and provided conflicting information about how much he had to drink. The Cuyahoga Falls man failed a field sobriety test and was charged with DUI and refusal of a BAC test despite two prior convictions for DUI in the past 10 years. Police recovered three open containers of liquor during a tow inventory.Police responding to reports of an erratic driver May 28 stopped him for traffic violations on South Hametown Road. He appeared intoxicated and admitted there was a handgun in the glove box. The South Hampton Road man failed a field sobriety test, was charged with DUI and taken to the Summit County Jail for improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle.An officer sitting in a marked cruiser on Wooster Road West May 28 was approach by a man who punched him. Other officers arrived to arrest the Wooster man, who stated he wanted to go to jail. The officer was transported to a hospital for treatment and the man was transported to the Summit County Jail on charges of assaulting a police officer.Police reviewed video surveillance to identify a man who drove a silver Jeep Gladiator with a black top into the parking lot of a Wadsworth Road business May 29 and stole a bench, aluminum ladder and awning.On May 30 police responding to reports that a man attempted to open storage units at a Newpark Drive facility found him walking on Barber Road. He provided a false name but police identified him and determined the man was wanted on eight warrants by the Summit County Sheriff's Office, which was unable to pick him up. The man was charged with falsification.Police reviewed video surveillance from a Wadsworth Road business May 30 after the owner reported scrap metal worth $300 was stolen from behind the business.

PENINSULA/BOSTON: A Main Street man called police May 30 after receiving a call from a company claiming he owed $4,000 on a bank credit card. The man said he never had a credit card through that bank and was advised the call was a scam and to file a police report.Police responding to a Whaley Road residence June 1 for a trespasser located the person and arrested her on a warrant out of the Portage County Sheriff's Office. She also had a warrant out of the Peninsula Police Department for failing to appear in court on a domestic violence charge. She was served with a civil protection order as requested by the property owner.Also June 1 a Riverview Road resident called police to report the theft of a mountain bike on his front yard, which had a for-sale sign on it.Police investigating a disabled vehicle on Interstate 271 June 2 arrested the driver for impaired driving after she failed field sobriety tests. The Euclid woman later registered more than three times the legal limit on a breath test and was also charged with having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.Police responded June 2 to the theft of a catalytic converter from a recreational vehicle at an Akron-Cleveland Road facility.Police stopped a motorcyclist June 3 for an equipment violation and found the bike's registration had been expired for three years. The rider, a Streetsboro man, said he had just gotten the motorcycle out of the shop and was riding it home. The bike was towed and the rider was cited for expired plates and inoperable taillights.Also June 3 a Riverview Road man reported receiving a bill from a phone provider for service and a phone he never purchased.A driver was pulled over on Stine Road June 4 for speeding and excessive window tint. The Cleveland man said he was delivering food. Police found marijuana and rolling papers inside the car and charged the man with speeding and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

RICHFIELD: On May 22 a man turned over to police a debit card found on a trail in a Broadview Road park. A park manager attempted to contact the owner.Also on May 22 a Columbia Road woman reported she heard pounding on her front door but found no one there. Police viewed video surveillance of a man in a hooded sweatshirt pound on the door and walk away. They used a thermal imager to search for him and saw four people walk out of the woods, but they ran back into the woods when they saw police.Neighbors of an abandoned Hart Road house reported May 23 a man was removing items from it. The man stated he would clean up the premises, which would enable him to file for possession of the property. Police attempted to contact the property owner and advised him not to return without written permission from the owner or he could be arrested for trespassing.On May 24 police investigated the theft of mail from mailboxes on Briarwood Drive and Whitethorne Circle West, where a check for $1,037 was stolen by someone who attempted to cash it at the victim's bank the same day.A driver stopped for doing 98 mph and driving erratically on Interstate 77 May 25 appeared to be under the influence of a substance, was confused about his whereabouts and failed a field sobriety test. He submitted a urine sample for testing and was charged with DUI.Police closed a section of Streetsboro Road May 25 after a dump truck hauling 69,000 pounds of asphalt from a nearby construction site fell into a ditch when the ground crumbled under it.The service manager of a Brecksville Road business reported May 26 a driver took a tractor-trailer from the lot without paying a $4,800 bill for repairs to the vehicle.A credit card found after a goat derby at a Broadview Road park was turned in to police May 26.A Boston Road woman reported May 26 an unauthorized check for $7,500 was cashed through her bank account.On May 27 firefighters extinguished a brush fire that burned the ground above a gas line and destroyed three 55-gallon drums at an area near Killarney Woods. Two juveniles admitted starting the fire, which they believed they had stomped out before going home. Charges against them were pending completion of an investigation.Following a traffic stop May 28, the driver was arrested for driving under suspension and a passenger was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. No one in the vehicle had driving privileges and police advised the driver to have a licensed driver come to the scene to drive the vehicle or it would be towed.
